What shucking costs you
Shucking means taking the drive out of an external enclosure to use it internally. The drive inside is usually a white-label WD or Seagate drive, but which model you get is not guaranteed, the warranty is generally voided once the case is opened, and some WD drives need the 3.3 V pin taped before they spin up in older power supplies. A bare drive avoids all three. Used bare drives are often the cheapest per TB; check their hours and SMART data with the seller.
Each figure is the single cheapest clean listing, so open it before buying; parts, lots and broken units are filtered out (how we price).
